A bird’s eye view: Drones in engineering, art and everyday life

Drones provide us on the ground with a whole new view of the world from the sky. They enable us to perceive, record and represent our world in important new ways.

The applications of drones are virtually limitless, and across UNSW, researchers are advancing this technology to create positive impacts on our lives. Our diverse array of research includes: using drones to provide medical supplies and plan paths for firefighting; exploring the use of drones in the media; improving operator performance and controlling noise; and creating artworks that explore the operations of military drones.

But who’s who, what are they working on, and how can these divergent streams join-up? This is an opportunity for staff and students with an interest in drone technology to explore, enquire and connect.

A Grand Challenges meetup.
