Join us for an afternoon of contrasts, the strong beats of the West African Drummers against the melodic repertoire of the UNSW Handbell Ensemble. The bronze of the bells versus the skin and timber of djembe drums.

The captivating rhythms of Senegal will echo around campus with our djembe ensemble playing a set of traditional songs. The group features special guest, Senegalese musician, Thiass Mbaye.

In the European tradition, the Handbell Ensemble will play a blend of traditional worship music harkening back to the heritage and traditional stomping grounds of Handbell Choirs across the US and UK. We'll mix it up with classical interjections and a surprise contemporary film score arrangement.
