Ideas Intersecting: Innovation & Design: Sydney Design Festival

7 March 2019
6.00pm – 8.00pm AEDT
Black Box, UNSW Art & Design, Paddington
This event has ended

The project centres on the creation of a digital exhibition that explores a single project within the practice of a number of individual designers. Through visually documenting each practitioner’s processes and design methods for a selected project, the exhibition will illuminate, and make tangible, the moments in creative practice when seemingly disparate ideas intersect.

The digital exhibition will be live throughout the duration of Sydney Design Festival, reimagining the traditional physicality of place-based gallery exhibitions. The digital format allows the project to address issues of audience accessibility in relation to design outcomes, and also the audience’s understanding of the intersection of design and innovation. This is achieved through the exploration of new possibilities for communicating process and experimentation within practice, when the exhibition is freed from the space, economic and visual constraints of the analogue world.

Opening night: Thursday 7 March 2019, 6.00pm - 8.00pm

A 1 hour panel discussion with practitioners will be held at the opening, and will address the intersection of ideas within the works included in the exhibition.

Exhibitors include: Alia Parker, Bic Tieu, Carly Vickers, Harriet Watts
