UNSW Creative Practice Lab is pleased to co-present LINK Dance Company 2018 from WAAPA with a selection of dance works by Australian choreographers Richard Cilli, Emma Fishwick, Tobiah Booth-Remmers and Michael Whaites.

This is Now // Richard Cilli
The present moment, ever advancing, yet never leaving its place, is an eternity full of potential. Dance is a way to commune with the present, as we leave the past and future behind. Complex organisations emerge from chaos, as we connect with the joy and spontaneity of the moment. This Is Now is a sequel to the 2017 work That Was Then, performed by many of the same cast, as their final work from the undergraduate program.

Dance, in a Dissolving Horizon // Emma Fishwick
Dance, in a Dissolving Horizonn examines the constantly shifting landscape through 13 female bodies. The moving body is key commentator and generates an evolving energetic landscape through space, time and rhythm. It’s slow evolution of imagery offers the viewer time to contemplate their way of seeing and way of being on this ever changing landscape.

The Wedding // Tobiah Booth-Remmers
The Wedding is a performance work that draws inspiration from themes of humanity and morality. It comments on the easily corruptible nature of our everyday world and the thin veneer that often covers our actions.

The Men’s Piece // Michael Whaites
Comic and arresting, The Men’s Piece from LINK’s Artistic Director delves into the world of egalitarianism and the shades of grey that are at the edges when we all think we are the same.
