Isabella Loong
Studio One, 6pm

Female producer and sonic composer/artist, Isabella Loong, previews her Honours music creative project – FEMME FAIRLIGHT – a collection of sonic experiments fully composed, recorded and processed through the Fairlight CMI IIx and the Peter Vogel CMI Pro iPad Application. Informed by Wolfgang Ernst’s media archaeology, Isabella Loong’s presentation will deconstruct her compositional processes, deriving inspiration from Kate Bush’s application of the Fairlight CMI as a pioneering sampler, synthesiser and programming digital instrument.

Jack Mao
Sir John Clancy Auditorium, 7pm

At the turn of the 18th century, piano music began to shift dramatically away from the established stylistic norms of the Classical Period. Spearheading this movement was Ludwig van Beethoven and his contemporary, Franz Schubert, pushing the piano idiom to express their introspections through sheer expanse, lyricism, and chromaticism. This recital celebrates the courage and the achievements of these composers, which culminate in the quintessential Romantic, Frédéric Chopin.

Please note: Jack Mao and Isablla Loong will perform in two separate venues on the one night. You're welcome to join us for one or both, your ticket will cover both.
