UNSW is a key partner of this industry-led cooperative research centre (RACE for 2030), established in 2020. We will invest $350 million of resources over 10 years to deliver lower energy costs and a substantial reduction in carbon emissions. Investment comprises $68.5 million of Commonwealth funding, with the remainder coming from our 70 plus partners who cover the whole value chain from end user to network, technology companies, governments, and 9 of Australia’s leading research organisations.
We've been working hard at RACE to foster collaborative innovation for a reliable affordable clean energy future. We have not had the participation of the incredible expertise of researchers at UNSW that we would like. We want to invite one of our key research organisations and core partners integral to creating this legacy, UNSW researchers, for a special networking evening.
We are interested in identifying solutions to the energy transition that extend beyond the technical, including those of policy, legal, consumer trust, behaviour change, financial incentives, business models, AI, education for the future workforce, communication. We need the great minds across all faculties to make this happen.
