Objects of Influence

14 – 25 May 2019
11.00am – 6.00pm AEST
AD SPACE, UNSW ART & DESIGN
This event has ended

Objects of Influence represents a cross-section of experimental practices from 3rd year students studying ceramics at UNSW Art & Design. Their works position the material of clay as physically and conceptually mutable. This is to imaginatively and critically consider its meanings and value within the complexity of our current environmental, social and political climates. Expanded approaches to the material are presented through sculptural interpretations of the medium in addition to table and homeware design. These artists and designers are concerned with various themes including the complexity of urban infrastructure, sustainability and environmental impact, corporeality and mortality.

The Australian Ceramics Association and Kil.n.it Experimental Ceramics Studio have generously sponsored a bursary for one student in association with this event. This bursary will facilitate future experiments with ceramic material. The allocation of this award will be announced on the night and be judged by a significant industry professional.
