Policy, Politics and Research
UNSW Science presents a talk by Paul Cairney, Professor of Politics and Public Policy, University of Stirling, UK (@Cairneypaul). Paul is a world expert in evidence-based policy and more broadly, knowledge translation. His research spans comparisons of policy theories, methods associated with key theories and international policy processes. He uses these insights to explain the use of evidence policymaking, in his book The Politics of Evidence-Based Policy Making.
Paul will explore why don’t policymakers listen to your evidence, and how can you make a bigger impact on policy. After his presentation he will be joined by Professor Emma Johnston (Dean of Science), Scientia Professor Rob Brooks (Director of the Evolution & Ecology Research Centre) and Professor Kristy Muir (CEO, Centre for Social Impact) for a panel discussion.
