One often thinks of J.S. Bach as a deeply religious, serious musician, an unfathomable and unknowable genius. Rarely do we think about Bach as a man who could be as playful and irreverent as us all. This concert will shine a light on the multifaceted talents of Bach. The Sinfonia of his sublime cantata BWV 182, two of his marvellous trio sonatas, the first 4 Contrapunctus from his Art of Fugue, and his inspired 6 part Ricercar from the Musical Offering illustrate the emotional and intellectual depths of this extraordinary human being.
