We are delighted to welcome alumni Lawrence Wen, CEO of CHAGEE, and Tommy Lai, CEO of Alyvate Hospitality, for an insightful panel discussion, exclusively for Alumni Based in Singapore.

CEO of CHAGEE

Lawrence Wen, a proud UNSW alumnus with a double degree in Commerce and Law, is the CEO of CHAGEE. Under his leadership, CHAGEE has made its successful return to Singapore with its 'Tea Bar' concept, blending modern technology with traditional tea-making practices.

Previously, Lawrence led foodpanda, enhancing digital experiences in the food delivery sector. At CHAGEE, he focuses on creating a seamless customer journey, driving the brand's success in the competitive tea market, especially in Southeast Asia.

Lawrence is also an active member of the UNSW alumni community, mentoring students and participating in events. His innovative approach and leadership have made him a key figure in the global tea industry.

Tommy Lai

CEO of Alyvate Hospitality

Tommy Lai is the Co-Founder and CEO of Alyvate Hospitality, a joint venture with China’s Dossen Hotel Management Group, focused on redefining global hospitality excellence. Previously, as CEO of General Hotel Management Pte Ltd (GHM), he expanded its luxury brand, The Chedi, and launched an ultra-luxury hotel brand for Saudi Arabia.

Recognized for his industry impact, Tommy appeared on Hotelier Middle East’s Executive Power List (2021-2022) and the Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 Power List. He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Building Construction Management from UNSW and a Master’s in Applied Finance from the University of Adelaide. He was also the founding Honorary General Secretary of the UNSW Alumni Singapore Chapter.
