Please join us for the UNSW Allens Hub Annual Lecture.

Drawing on his upcoming book, Rethinking Law, Regulation and Technology, and current book Law 3.0, Professor Roger Brownsword will address some of the biggest questions facing law, lawyers and law students in the coming decades.

Traditionally, Law is understood to be a form of human governance that relies on rules as its regulatory instruments. However, as we enter an era of Law 3.0, when new technologies make themselves available to be employed alongside (or in place of) rules to discharge legal functions, and as humans work with technologies, there is a pressure to rethink the relationship between law, regulation and technology.

This lecture will sketch the new landscape of Law 3.0 and focus on how we should now conceive the authority of the Law.  It will run for approximately 30 minutes, followed by a Q&A.
