Barney Tan is a Professor and Head of the School of Information Systems and Technology Management at UNSW Sydney. He has conducted over 50 case studies of digital sustainability in organizations across the Asia-Pacific over the last 12 years, centred on how digital technologies can be strategically deployed to minimize their environmental footprint, increase living standards, and ensure social justice. Barney has consulted for business leaders on the attainment of their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities, as well as regulators and policymakers on the development of IT infrastructure to realize their potential for generating economic and social benefits.

Leading authority on organisational performance and diversity
Columbia University Professor Modupe Akinola is a groundbreaking researcher into how organisational environments trigger stress and the repercussions on performance. She brings a unique multidisciplinary approach to her work, measuring not only the causes and effects of stress, but also the physiological responses that stress triggers. With a background in consulting, Modupe was the first head of diversity at Bain & Co. where she helped to build the organisation’s recruitment and retention framework for people of colour before returning to academia to get her Ph.D. in organisational behaviour from Harvard.
