Three big bands on one big night - a jazz feast!

UNSW's jazz musicians will play a range of new and known works in a night featuring the UNSW Jazz Orchestra, G16 Jazz Collective and UNSW Advanced Jazz Ensemble. 

Three children went out to play. Only two came back... 

The Flower Girls. Laurel and Primrose. 

One convicted of murder, the other given a new identity.

Now, nineteen years later, another child has gone missing.

And The Flower Girls are about to hit the headlines all over again...

In this talk, Minneapolis-based curators Pavel Pyś and Sara Cluggish discuss key projects that have informed their respective approaches to curating. Pyś and Cluggish will draw on a variety of work experiences and associated projects – from the context of the small-scale public institution and independent residency program to scholarly research institute and large-scale interdisciplinary art center.

There is a war on truth. And the liars are winning.

Compositive investigates the potential in harvesting wasted time, utilising this dormant energy to produce new outcomes. A collaborative exercise with several thousand worms and some of my unknown fellow painting students, Compositive used discarded paintings from bins on campus and from my own personal archive to imagine a future without failure - or at least where success can be salvaged.

When Playing on Synthetic Grass, we are in our element, in the playground, the artificial space that looks nothing like the real world, but is designed to be safe. A space for experimentation, learning and growth. We don't work, we play, and we don't make works, we make games. Playing on Synthetic Grass brings us back to our childhood, the playgrounds, the playpens and the various play things.
